Is complacency the evil twin of procrastination?
I believe it is.
Have you ever been around others who are very complacent and seem to have no sense of urgency? The status quo is just fine with them.
“Why bother taking action?”
The questions that come into play…
- Why does complacency happen?
- Is there a real sense of urgency?
- Does it lead into procrastination?
I am reminded of the situation where one of my co-workers used to say…. “I would love to schedule that important meeting, but my schedule is just too full right now.” He was being very complacent, whereas I saw the meeting and its content as more urgent. My thought was when will we get this work done?
Sometimes we have others around us who are complacent, when we are not.
Their complacency impact our “action -gene” and just might feed our procrastination beast.
Try not to let that happen!
